It’s been a few weeks since the last update. Below are some serious updates, mixed in with a little bit of fun, as David requested. So as Kai Ryssdal from NPR’s “Marketplace” says, “let’s do the numbers”:
August 3rd
David came to the end of mile marker #2, having finished his second round of chemo. Four more rounds to go. He’s tired and has lost weight, but is otherwise feeling well and continues to have a positive attitude.
August 5th
David and Jen celebrate their 20-year anniversary. Mazel tov, you two lovebirds! As David said, he’ll be celebrating with Metamucil.
August 11th and 12th
David is going for 3rd and 4th opinions with radiation oncologists.
August 14th
The Lubitz family scored highly coveted spots to shabbat services at Temple Isaiah. These are not easy spots to come by. There will be masks, social distancing, and let’s hope…no rain.
August 17th
Happy 45th birthday, Jen! Wow, you make 45 look good!
August 25th
David begins mile marker #3. There was a bump in the road in a road with scheduling at the Tate Cancer Center where David is receiving his treatment, which will delay round three by a week. David is going to use this extra time to get some additional rest, get stronger, and try and put back on some weight.
